Mark L. James is an avid collector, exhibitor and driver of postwar Studebaker hardtop coupes. He is a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA), the Studebaker Drivers Club and the Society of Automotive Historians. His articles on Golden Hawks have appeared in Antique Automobile (official publication of the AACA) and the event magazine for the 2016 Boca Raton Concours d’Elegance. Mark is an AACA Senior Master Judge and enjoys judging cars at AACA National Meets throughout the country. He also likes having his own cars judged, and his Golden Hawks have won two AACA National Awards for Outstanding Discontinued Automobile among many other AACA Awards. His Golden Hawks have also been judged at the following Concours where they have won nine Best in Class awards and two Outstanding Postwar Automobile awards:
Although Mark's foremost Studebaker passion is the Golden Hawk, his collection has become somewhat eclectic. In keeping with his commitment to rare postwar hardtops, he also has a 1958 Packard Hawk (the Golden Hawk's controversial cousin) as well as a 1958 Studebaker President Starlight hardtop sedan. The newest edition to his "Studebaker stable" is a 1956 Studebaker Commander Parkview two-door station wagon.
